Why is my bathtub clogged?
Almost always hair and soap scum packed into the trap and the first few feet of drain. A cable clears it. If the tub backs up only when the toilet flushes or the washer drains, the clog is farther down in the main line.
How do you unclog a shower drain?
The strainer comes off, a cable goes down the drain, and the hair and scum are pulled out or broken up. Chemical drain cleaners are not used: they damage old pipe and rarely clear a hair clog.
