Water Pipe Repair & Repiping in Norwalk, CA
Repiping replaces a home's aging water supply lines, usually original galvanized steel from the 1950s and 60s, with copper or PEX that won't rust shut. It's a specialty of One Hour Plumbing Service, because most of southeast LA County's housing stock was built in exactly that era.

Signs your pipes are telling you something
- Water pressure gets worse every year, especially at the shower
- Rusty or brown water when a tap first opens
- Pinhole leaks keep appearing in different spots
- Water that smells or tastes metallic
- Your home still has its original galvanized pipes (built before ~1970 and never repiped)
How Mickey handles it
- 01Mickey looks at what's actually there — sometimes it's one bad section, not a whole-house repipe.
- 02If a repair will genuinely hold, that's what he'll tell you. If the pipe is done, he'll show you why.
- 03You get a firm quote for the repipe — material options (copper vs. PEX) explained in plain language.
- 04Walls are opened only where needed, and the work is done to code and inspected.
- 05Everything is warrantied — this is a fix you do once.

Common questions
How do I know if my house needs a repipe?
If it was built before about 1970 and still has original galvanized pipe, it's living on borrowed time — the pipe rusts shut from the inside. Falling pressure and rusty water are the classic signs. A quick look tells Mickey how far gone it is.
Copper or PEX — which is better?
Both are good, done right. Copper is the traditional premium option; PEX is flexible, freeze-tolerant, and usually less expensive. Mickey quotes both when both fit, and explains the tradeoffs without pushing either.
How long does a whole-house repipe take?
Most single-family homes take a few days, and you'll have water each evening. You'll get a real schedule with the quote — not a moving target.
Can't I just keep fixing leaks as they come?
You can, for a while — but each pinhole is the pipe telling you the wall thickness is gone. At some point patches cost more than the repipe. Mickey will tell you honestly which side of that line you're on.
