What we see in Whittier

Whittier has some of the oldest housing stock in the area. Uptown and the historic districts include homes from the 1920s through the 1950s, many on raised foundations with original galvanized pipe underneath. That combination makes under-house inspections, repipes, and sewer work the bread-and-butter calls here.

East Whittier and the hillside neighborhoods came later, in the 1950s and 60s, on slab foundations with copper supply lines. Different houses, different problems: slab leaks, aging water heaters, and tree roots in the sewer line from decades-old landscaping. Mickey has worked both sides of town since the beginning and quotes each job for what it actually needs.

“Don't ever let your kids throw hot wheels in your toilet.... if you do I suggest giving Mickey a call. He was able get everything back to normal (no more flooding) and even sent me a link to buy a toilet lock so he wouldn't have to come back out and pump out more toys and god knows what else out.”

Whittier questions, answered

How fast can you get to Whittier?

It depends on the drive from Norwalk and what is already on the schedule. Nearby cities are usually within the hour; farther out takes longer. Call and Mickey gives you a real arrival time for Whittier.

My Whittier home still has galvanized pipes. Is that a problem?

Eventually, yes. Galvanized pipe rusts shut from the inside, which is why older Whittier homes fight low pressure. Mickey can look (free, under the house) and tell you honestly how much life is left.

Can you repipe a Whittier house without tearing up the walls?

Usually, yes. On raised-foundation homes most of the new line runs under the house and through the attic, with small access openings that get patched. Mickey walks you through exactly where they will be before starting.

Are estimates free?

Yes. Describe the problem and you'll get a real price on the call. If the job needs a look first, Mickey comes out and gives you the estimate in person. Free either way, and the price doesn't move without your OK.

Are you available nights and weekends?

Yes: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, holidays included. Plumbing emergencies don't check the clock, so neither does Mickey.
